Title: request Post by: BANHAMMERED! on August 17, 2010, 10:00:49 AM hey, my cousin designed this for his little business recently, and I was wondering if I could see your take on it?
(http://i38.tinypic.com/2uetnk5.jpg) I'm wondering if you could conceive of something more 'your style' in respects to the little man on the skateboard? i think it's a good base for further enhancement, and the font is probably something we should stick with, but stylistic modifications could be right up your alley (butt). let me know if i could see something because I'm supposed to finish the website by next week! thanks, mjh Title: Re: request Post by: BANHAMMERED! on August 17, 2010, 10:01:19 AM ps. please.
Title: Re: request Post by: Dratini SE on August 17, 2010, 03:28:13 PM well for starters that is clearly not a little man, that is an A on a badly drawn skateboard.
I don't like the font at all, especially the W. Where did he find it? everything needs to be more spaced out, away from each other. It's a good start but I imagine that you're going to fix it? Title: Re: request Post by: BANHAMMERED! on August 17, 2010, 04:24:49 PM totally. only reason i say the font should stay is that the prototype skateboard i tried yesterday already has a sticker with that font on the side... and he didn't seem very open to me tinkering with the logo because he was so proud of having created it.
i saw much promise in it, and i'm definitely going to try a whole bunch of fonts/spacings/etc. but something that feels like the above picture.. just, polished. i guess the point I like is that it's simple - he put a circle above the A, drew a line and two more circles, and he's got his own brand... if, in the end, i (you) come up with something that's totally different and totally betterer i'd use it, but i think he's one of those people who would be set on having a little man on a skateboard. Title: Re: request Post by: Dratini SE on August 17, 2010, 04:32:34 PM make sure to design it on a grid, evenly spaced
and make the skateboard look more like a skateboard, and make the A a little smaller in font, it'll still be readable Title: Re: request Post by: BANHAMMERED! on August 17, 2010, 04:47:34 PM shutup, draw me something.
Title: Re: request Post by: Dratini SE on August 17, 2010, 05:20:58 PM what? no way. YOU DO IT.
or your cousin should do it. you just said that he didn't want to change it. Title: Re: request Post by: BANHAMMERED! on August 17, 2010, 07:11:10 PM fine.
thanks. Title: Re: request Post by: Dratini SE on August 17, 2010, 08:05:16 PM I would offer to make you a little man, but all you have to do is shrink the font a little and it'll look fine
I will draw you a skateboard if you want Title: Re: request Post by: BANHAMMERED! on August 17, 2010, 08:16:36 PM I would offer to make you a little man, but all you have to do is shrink the font a little and it'll look fine I will draw you a skateboard if you want i was really just interested in your creative vision, but i guess i can just go fuck myself. Title: Re: request Post by: Dave on August 17, 2010, 10:59:52 PM here's a pretty quick way of making it look better: shrink it back so it doesn't look obviously skewed

Title: Re: request Post by: BANHAMMERED! on August 18, 2010, 03:27:58 PM he sucks at computers.
Title: Re: request Post by: Halolauren on August 18, 2010, 03:47:34 PM I like the concept for the man on the skateboard. the font can go though.
Title: Re: request Post by: BANHAMMERED! on August 19, 2010, 11:32:30 AM here's a pretty quick way of making it look better: shrink it back so it doesn't look obviously skewed (http://a.imageshack.us/img833/7958/2uetnk5.jpg) that looks way better. I'm trying to re-create the image in photoshop, but I'm not sure which font he used. Title: Re: request Post by: BANHAMMERED! on August 19, 2010, 11:56:22 AM on second look, i actually kind of like the wider version if other spacing issues can be resolved!
Title: Re: request Post by: Dave on August 19, 2010, 12:56:59 PM well there are better ways to widen it than just ctrl+t and pulling the side
Title: Re: request Post by: Dratini SE on August 19, 2010, 03:43:02 PM yeah you clearly skewed the font
how COULD YOU Title: Re: request Post by: BANHAMMERED! on August 20, 2010, 06:12:20 PM shut up and draw me something
Title: Re: request Post by: BANHAMMERED! on August 22, 2010, 10:23:00 AM shut up and draw me something Title: Re: request Post by: Dratini SE on August 22, 2010, 02:27:53 PM I DON'T EVEN KNOW WHAT YOU WANT ME TO DRAW
