New Post Discourse on the Opposite of Philosophy
One time I was walking along a dirt path when I happened upon an oddly shaped discolored patch of dirt. Perplexed, I bent down to investigate. In it I saw no truths, but no lies; I saw no bleak and opaque visions reflecting my own muddled and depressionistic impressions of the world, but also no clear reflection of myself, my essence, that which makes me me. In short, this patch, unexpected and randomly placed as it was, opened my eyes to nothing. From that point on I was determined never again to see the world for what wasn't there; from that point on I vowed never again to look too deeply into the mundane. In a sense, it was comforting to know that there was still randomness in my universe, that all the foresight and philosophy in the world would not prepare me for what was to come around every corner.

Keeping it real, one day at a time.

As usual, you've got some interesting stuff there, Enosis.

By the way, you should stop by more often.

It befits that people here wouldnt look too deeply past their little worlds. ha

That was pretty good, Enosis. I used to try to be very "alert" to things around me: conspiracies and the like. However sometimes there just isn't anything there. Even today, though, I do look for reasons behind what we are told. For instance, Bush is trying to get a $15 billion AIDS project to help Africa and the Caribbean through Congress right now. I guess that might have something to do with the fact that Iraq didn't have any weapons of mass destruction after all. However, I am very surprised that the Bush Administration hasn't yet planted any on Iraq.

With Bow let us win Kine, with Bow in battle, with
Bow be victory in our hot encounters,
The Bow brings grief and sorrow to the foeman; armed
With Bow may we subdue all regions.
Close to his ear, as fain to speak, she presses, holding
Her well-loved friend in her embraces;
Strained on the bow, she whispers like a woman -- this
Bow-string that preserves us in the Combat.

On the contrary, though, I had thoughts of futility. They say that beauty is only skin deep. I had effectively added a new dimension to the saying, nullifying everything's intrinsic value, everything's fundamental meaning, as with "beauty," to mere superficiality. Thus there was no reason for me to ask questions, to seek out knowledge, as anything I found might be construed to mean a thousand different things to a thousand different people--there seemed not to be a single, universal interpretation for anything. Why, then, do people do just that--that is, why do they seek more than a casual, superficial, quantitative understanding of their environment?

Well if you want a more complicated explaination of that patch of dirt, here you are:

* A place where plants can grow and derive nutrients with which they support life.
* That dirt may have been from completely different places. By that I mean that some may have blown in, some pushed up from a fault, some brought there by animals, etc..
* You can do lots of things with dirt, such as make adobe.
* You might need to throw that dirt in someone's face if you get jumped by someone bigger than you.
* That dirt probably looks different to different organisms that see different colors of light or interperet that light in a different way.
* Dirt can be fun.
* One method of making dirt look good in 3D is fairly old, but I forgot what it's called. It's like you draw a bunch of equally-sized pixels up from a single flat polygon. It's best used for sand, but it would work for dirt, too.

Okay, that's enough for now.
