Thinking of it, the only person west of me that would probably even go is Aub. It's not like he has a job or school or anything, but I still doubt it since he'd have to drive a parent's car and because he's lazy.

Hitty could be onto something. Customs wasn't very bad when I went up there , they basicly just ask you what you're gona be doing and if your gona bring anything back, that sorta stuff. Goods are cheaper (I got the Back to the Future boxset for 20 bucks American), there was fun stuff there, and if worse comes to worse we can make fun of how short Hitty is until he gets rid of us. As long as that big white guy isn't around. Who was that, anyway?

Okay, I think there's enough people willing to go ahead with this to make it worth it. Let's pool the cities that could be used:

New York

Pros: Big. Lots of people who know the place. Lots of stuff to do. Shortest travel route for most people.

Cons: Would probably be difficult to arrange a place to stay. Rely on public transportation. Stuff would probably cost a lot more than other places.

Toronto

Pros: $1 American = 1.21 Canadian. Lots of stuff to do. Easier for people from the midwest/rest of Canada to access. Much more freedom to do stuff than American cities. Make fun of how short Hitty is.

Cons: Customs could be bothersome for Americans. Longer travel distance than New York for most people. Rely on a terrorist, towellhead, and gangster to be our gudies. The metric system.

Throw in some other cities with reasons why we should go there, i'll change the poll later.

Meh, I'd still say New York, but I'm not defenately going or anything, so whatever.

I just figured since a lot of people were near, and for most people, even if the whole thing turned out to suck, at least they'd have gone somewhere interesting that was worth going for a vacation anyway.

I fail to see how such an event would suck. I could have done a ton more stuff with Terrorist and Towellhead when I was up there, and having more people around would have made it even cooler.

Yeah, but all I'm saying is that you might as well go somewhere that's desirable to go in the first place if you want to give people a reason to cart their asses down there.

Its been said that you can't go more than 10 miles in Michigan and not run into a lake. I guess you just have to figure out which is the best for fishing cause thats not my thing.

New York sounds good. 6 hour drive from Maine? Shouldn't be bad.

I'll be able to fit alot of people in my wagon so if anyone who needed a ride and wanted to throw down for gas money I'll take along.

And Lorli if you're in Maine drop by Wells. One of the best towns in Maine. And don't go to Ogunquit, like 60% of the town is gay.

Having been to both repeatedly (and lived in one), I'll say that New York is a much cooler city than Toronto. As Jeremy Hotz says Toronto smells like poo. But seriously. Point to Davey's argument: for the experience of the city itself, NY definately wins. I don't think that point can be denied. All in all, a more interesting city.

However, there might be some advantages to having it in Toronto. It might be easier and cheaper to get a place out there. And definately easier to get somewhere more inside the city. If we were to do it in NY, I'm wondering if we might have to settle for somewhere in Nassau. I don't think the value of the American dollar would make much of a difference, since lots (not all) of prices in Canada seem to just have their number value jacked up, so you'd be paying pretty much the same ammount in America. However, New York can be an expensive city (you have to pay for quality Wink

), so Toronto might be a cheaper venture. Also, Toronto doesn't carry the stigma that New York carries (unfairly, but hey, that's what you get when you're the popular guy). Some of the 16 year olds around here might have an easier time convincing their parents to let them go out to Toronto than to New York.

On the other hand, aside from having Hitty there, I don't think there's really anything Toronto does that Boston can't do one hundred times better. And I'm not going to even bother listing reasons New York is awesome.

Hmm, I checked it out and a round trip bus ride would cost about 360-370. That's not bad.

I also just thought of something my parents told me awhile abgo about if I ever needed some money for anything, They'd help me out, since all throughout my childhood, I sat at home playing video games I bought myself while my brothers got signed up all kinds of different sporting leagues every year. I could probably even get them to pay for most of it.

I'm saying Toronto mainly cuz' New York sounds more prone to problems with things like hotels and that sorta stuff. I mean, not that we coudn't do it, but I think just to be on the safe side cuz' it's the first time we're trying to organize something like this.

I don't think my parents would be too weirded out about me going to visit internet people. My older brother has traveled to meet someone he'd met on the internet, and he's now living with his internet girlfriend in Alaska, and he only knew her for, like 8 or 9 months before that.
