I mean, like, 90% of what the media lumps as "emo" isn't actual emo, or even close to it. Pretty annoying for emo fans, I would bet. Nu-metal kids probably have it the same way. I've been listening to a lot of newer music lately as I recently visited my uncle in NYC who has a huge music selection and is always up on current (mostly good) bands. So I usually leave with a whole bunch of new songs on my ipod.
