I know how much we love to hate people around here, and there's probably no group more universally hated on this board than those soccer moms who try to blame video games for society's problems. There are numerous sites out there created by these various groups.

I say we make our own. A parody one, with our own fake organisation. We would call ourselves the Nation Against Interactive Video Entertainment. Our intro on our main page would read something like this:

"Are your children out of control? Are they aggressive and hurtful? Do they seem angry all the time. In these situations, it's easy for a parent to blame themselves, but now you don't have to. We at the Nation Against Interactive Video Entertainment believe that it's better toblame an outside corporation with little ability to truly defend itself. Blaming yourself is hard, upsetting, and totally pointless.

Video games are the reason your child is out of control. Violent, overstimulating, and detrimental to the very important separation of fantasy and reality, these games corrupt the minds of youths in ways we need not fully explain. They are a menace, one which must be destroyed if we are ever to free our youngsters from their binary grasp. Read on to learn more about things you can do to draw attention towards this problem."

That was lame but it gets the general idea. What would follow would be a series of fake testimonials, studies, interviews, and maybe even a forum.

I think it would be great if we could all pull together to do it (and that's a big "if.")

What I hate even more than soccer moms who try to blame video games for society's problems are the morons who think that video games have absolutely no effect on society.

Wanker kind of rhymes with breaker, but those two words should rarely be in the same sentence.

Haha, I think this is a funny idea. Not like we're going to cause any social turmoil or anything, but if anyone has some extra time it could be pretty funny.

I agree with that. I made it obvious so you'd know where I was going with it, but the real thing would be more subtle.

I like the idea, but in terms of practicality, it's... not. Not with the people we have around here, and the collective amount of drive we have for projects. By the way, I will actually get this 'zine done, I'm not shitting you... it will be a glorious day, and the trumpets will sound, welcoming us home.
