MY dear entry mates...
After reading some of the experiences,, i must say that if those had happened to me, i probably wud b hating him as much as haris hates him,,, and i do agree that he was very very unfair to some of them,,, and dont get me wrong here,,, i was merely mentioning my side of the story,, as nothing bad was done to me by mr abid,, i cant call him bad. But yes,,, i,ve seen him treat some ppl really badly,,, but here again i wud like to say that it was not all mister abids fault,,, some of the blame goes to us cadets too,,, for thinking of him as a nightmare or some ghost. I think mister abid had a flaw in him where , when he knew someone was really scared or afraid of him, he wud take unfair advantage of that and tried to mentally n physically torture those cadets. Haris is a classic example. I might be wrong, but i reckon the reason why mister abid never mistreated me was because i knew he was a human being , and just a teacher, I kept my distance, and also never really thought of him as anything more than a normal teacher,, so wenever i was dealing with him, i always acted normal, as if i,m tlkain to another human being, not as if i,m in front of some dummy God. And trust me guys,, i think that was the only difference.. U act normal and dont give him too much importance,,, keep him at a level where he belongs, and theres no way he can torture u,,, thats my experience,,,
There was one incident which i seriously cannot even remember wat exactly was it that i did,, but i dunno, i did something, and mister abid called me to his office n told me that this n this had happened n he was very mad about it,,, and then he told me to go away n come after dinner,,, this was his classic tactic of torturing ppl,,,,,, but i didnt take it as a torture,, i went after dinner and he said i,ll see u after the prep, trying to add more tension,,, but i knew he does that to every1,, and he was hoping i,d b really scared n thinking what might happen,,, but i was cool about it,,, cos i knew wat i did wasnt that big of a deal, so i went after prep,,, n he tells me to stay outside cos he was busy doing something,,, i stayed outside for about 20 25 minutes while he was pretending to look busy. then he called me in. and told me,,, i,m sending ur parents a written warning regarding ur behaviour. I was a bit shocked cos the matter was really very small,,, but this is wat i want u guys to see that it was his negative tactics,,, well i was shocked but not because a written warning was being sent,, but because it sounded pretty silly,,, and i smilingly told him,, sir watever i,ve done wasnt very good, so i apologise, but i dont think theres a need for sending a written warning anywhere. He started me in the eyes for a few seconds and told me to come tommorow,,, and the next day he said he was giving me another chance because i said i was sorry and wudnt do it again. and thats about it..
thats probably the closest i,ve gotten to being tortured by him,,, so wat my point is,, dont do anything stupid,, if u do,,, dont get caught! .. and if u get caught, act normal. but i really dont have the answer to wat happened to haris,,, if that all was done to me,,, i,d probably b hating him as much as haris does right now. khair,,
ah and one more thing,,, about jamil academy and my friends for multan and other nearby suburbs, i totally agree,,, they were mistreated by mister abid, and principal,, and for that i truly hate them both,, specially shah babur.. and there were many examples,,, 38th entry cadet captain,,, and mind u ppl,, there was one right in our own wing,, i think gardezi was waaaaayyy more deserving than any other for the appointments,, after monam, that is. So yeah i find that bit very unfair,,

for a positive,, think of all the nice n funny things that happened,,, and the moments we all shared together for 5 yrs.

Anyways getting back to the issue at hand
dearest haris you obviously are very emotional about this Mr Abid and rightly so you were mistreated the most by him. But please try to get over it. Because thats the sensible thing to do. You said he dint let you perform to your pottential during your cadet life. Well do you want him to hold you back all your life, because thats what is going to happen if you don't let go. What about the belting and beatings that our seniors used to give us. Waking us up in the middle of the night and making us polish the wing galleries. If you ask me thats pretty near to abuse too. But nobody's complaining about that because its a part of cadet life. I am sure that children at some government schools receive far more beatings then the ones Mr Abid gave you but still it doesn't mean that no one from government schools goes on to have a good career. The reason they do go on to have good careers is because they learn to LET GO. Thats the key word here let go.
And if even after 4 years you have not been able to let go and still as you say have nightmares about him then perhaps the place for you to go is not a court of law but a pshycatrist's office
As for saving the lives of other innocent cadets, i think kamran is right the issue should be raised at the reunion. Because that is the place to raise this issue. If there is any proof behind that news item of Mr Abid raping a woman then that should be the end of his teaching career.
And perhaps it is also time for Mr Shah Babar to go otherwise only God knows how many more Cadets from multan will be targeted.

A.A. Everyone,
First of all Haris,I am sorry for putting my views so belatedly...but now that I have read all the stuff here, I must say that I hold the same view as of Iqbal and Omar of not discussing teachers on a public forum like this. Yar as I told you many nonabdalians visit this site and you have just given them another point to hitback at our dear college. We can discuss this issue on a mailing list(by the way, a mailing list for abdalians at yahoogroups already exists). It would be a better idea for you to get your message across to many abdalians as many of us check our emails regularly, and most of the messages posted here go unnoticed(as this one would have been, had you not told me)......
Well in saying that, I donot intend at all to negate what you have described. Like all others,I have been a witness to all this slapping and beating you got at the hands of Mr.Abid....but again like Usman, Omer and Iqbal I had a pretty nice experience with him and Abdullah, personal experiences do count in building up some one's image in our mind. Mr.Abid used to do all that stuff what you have discussed, many students have suffered at his hands but believe me Haris, all this messaging and discussion will go invain as this is not the place to do this. Kamran you are right in saying that these matters should be discussed at forums like Reunion etc.I am shocked at the news you have disclosed, if that is true then that should be THE end, but again by writing all this stuff here, you people are making CADET COLLEGE HASANABDAL a laughing stalk for the outsiders.
Haris, you have the whole life ahead.....instead of thinking about what is gone, do concentrate on your future, study hard....(Picli dafa bhi jab tum prof dey kar aye thay to bohat kamzoor ho chukay thay, akhir mein parhney ka yehi anjam hota hai:)))...and now that you are in Karachi, try to mingle with people there...its such a vibrant and lively city....I am sure you will get rid of these nightmare (Omar is right, you better see a pshychiatrist soon:))...
Study hard, I wish a very happy and successful life for you and pray that you do not come across any such experience again...Yar there are whole lot of other issues to be discussed, there are other things in life....Concentrate on them and please like I suggested use some other medium to get your messages across....

I just wanted to ask iqbal shahid whats wrong with discussing these things on this forum?
As far as degrading a teacher is concerned,you must remeber that a teacher must take care that while punishing a student he must not hurt his self respect and i feel that mr abid did just that.He hurt the elf respect of a student.And remember EVERYONE HAS SELF RESPECT no matter how big or small,rich or poor.
There were other strict teachers too but they never hurt anyones selfrespect.
So dear Iqbal Shahid if a person has been tortured and humiliated for so long why do u want him to stay quiet even now.
I think everyone should openly state all their grudges on this forum against anyone.

Well guys, after reading all this, I thought I may chip in something here as well.
Its been such a long time. My interaction with Abid Choudry goes back to 25 years, when he had joined CCH and we were in class 8th. Over the five years we were there I had quite an interaction with him, as the biology teacher, as incharge of the mountainering club, and then Assistant house master Liquat Wing. It has been 20 years since I left CCH, but I still vividly remember Abid Choudry and some of our interactions during the Hiking course as well as in the wing. Yes, if someone were to ask me, I would say, "I hate Abid Choudry" despite all these years.
I was a kid at that time, but I can say a few things about his character and personality: firstly he is a coward, believe me guys, he is a coward. You look him in the eyes and stare him and he backs off. He may have emboldened over the years realizing that he can harrass and suppress the kids there, but back then he was a big coward. Secondly, he is a very mean and vidictive person, and would go to quite extremes to hurt people, especially emotionally - those he finds he can harass and get away with it. Thirdly he has a very sick and dirty mind. And lastly, he suffers from an inferiority complex because of his background and upbringing which he used to take out on some of the kids around. I can fill pages here about Abid Choudry, and Iqbal if you think this is "gheebat" I can say all these things on Abid Choudry's face as well. Here is just one incident about my interactions with him.
I was Section Commander, and one night during the second prep in winters he came to my room, stared around, sniffed in the air and said that I had been smoking somewhere and that I have cigarettes with me. I said no I wasn't and no I don't have them. He said, "Well bhai you tell me, and its between you and me, I will not tell anyone or do anything about it." I said there is nothing to tell, and yes I had looked staight into his eyes and said this. We went on saying this in different manners, and then he said he would inspect my room. I said sure go ahead. Now just imagine, he himself threw my mattress, my pillow, quilt, looked under the bed, behind some of the pictures I had hung in my room, emptied my cupboard, threw everything out, picked up my shoes looked in them, searched every nook and corner of that room, AND FOUND NOTHING!! All this time I just stood there staring at him, and I could see his face getting redder and redder. Finally, he gave up and said, well he didn't find any cigarettes for now, but will catch me some other time. Boy you could see his humiliation. To save his face, he picked up my english novels, I had covers on the titles so that I could read them with ease - and took them saying, "Ain bhai you read porno". The next day, Mian Abur Rauf Saheb the Head master came to my room and gave me back the books saying, "there are some sick people here who think every book of english literature is pornographic". I still remember the titles of those books - Memoirs of Richard Nixon, Freedom at Midnight, Life after death, Roots and Crash of 79.
After this incident Abid Choudry did not enter my room. We also had quite a few incidents with him during the 2/3 weeks we spent with him while mountaineering.
I know he is a very sick and negative minded person. He was the main person behind the incident with Manzoor brothers in Hasanabdal. There is a lot more to Abid Choudry than what I have written here that could be slandering as well, or any of you has written. You can all talk about it in the reunions.
But this is for sure, for the revival of CCH's glory sick people like Shah Babur and Abid Choudry have to go. Just imagine the kind of impact Abid Choudry has had on generations. I still have such strong feelings of hatred for him after more than 20 years.
Keep it up boys, move on with your lives, but never forgive Abid Choudry. He has to suffer as he has made others suffer.

I am disappointed to read ur point of view abt.this matter of Mr.Abid.I think Haris is already studying hard for improving his career but the point here to be discussed is that Abid will be doing the same thing to the upcoming students from Hasan Abdal Cadet college.We have to at least build up a public opinion abt. his mental nature.because if next day if he gets the post of Principal then our beloved institution will be destroyed.So if we build up such a strong opinion(either he is right or wrong)we can have some powers in future to deal with that sort of problem as a Muslim,Pakistani,Abdalian.
JUst NOt Sit Back And See him destroying innocent kids like wolf.Ur a human being .
By the way ,Iqbal, on the day of judgement u'll be surely questioned that when u saw a person doing all that stuff but u didn't even had the courage to think bad abt.
Wajaht bhai,Haris needs notn to visit pshychiatrist because we all know he becomes a bit "Jazbati" some times but this time he is saying absolutely right.If some one needs to visit pshychiatrist it is Mr. Yaqoob Abid .Because he even today don't know that he had been doing wrong, even today.
We'll rase this issue even if we visit CCH.But its right to Question the personality of our teacher even Shah Babur.Beacuse this is the right which we got from Allah.(Think that incident from the life of Mazrat Omar(R.A.T.A))
And if u feel that its not good to discuss on this forum because other people will think bad abt. it then ur mistaken because they will feel good abt. it that some positive discussion abt. improving the environment of our beloved institution is being done.WE JUST CAN'T SIT BACK AND SEE THIS HAPPENING TO NEW GENERATION.
Haris Iqbal Keep up the hard work ur doing there in MBBS.But don't get upset on such foolish comments.i fully agree with Usman,Abdullah.........both of them r thinking very positive.

nice to see u on net after such a long time,hopes u people r rally enjoying your excellent careeers.
i spent 3 years under the housemastership of mr.
abid with u people,seems to a bit hard.it looked
as if i was in prison.actually it has been a part of mr.abid's nature to torture students.he has been aman of favouritisms and personasal
saisfection.
he has got a strong tendency to develope a personal vendetta against the cadets whome he does not like.you people know that natures can never be changed.it is the duty of aministration to keep him away from to keep him from such posts which he could manifest to satisfy his personal agendas.it is obvious that many cadets were victimised as in case of appointments.many deserving people were left out.
mr.abid should read these pages & massages and
think about his "status and regards"in the hearts of all ABDALIANS.mr abid has to answer ALLAH for

Fellow Abdalians, I guess it is time that we all moved public opinion (of senior and junior abadalians) and really run a campaign of informing all those who matter about the sickness and madness of Shah Babur and Abid Choudry.
WE SHOULD NOT REST TILL WE HAVE RID CCH FROM THE DESTRUCTIVENESS OF BOTH OF THESE FELLOWS.

Dear Abdalian, Wow it is hard to read all of what you gentlemen have written. This subject has turned into an essay contest.
I am from 24th entry, can assure all my fellow abdalians, Mr Abid Chaudry is unfit to hold any kind of office. I don't only remember him well but also have known him since I belong to Hasanabdal.
All of these problems are stemming due to a number of factors. I would mention a few.
A very weak alumni association, & this is due to a number of feactors
a) Office bearers in alumni association had interests in having their sons selected in CCH, and in return they fully ingored the larger interests of this great institution. Whenever we tried to raise some issues we were given a shut up call.
b) This association needs a very strong leadership that is capable of raising the issues & demanding some answers thus introducing the accountability factor in its constitution.
c) The last but not the least is the fact that this association has multiple problem besides the lack of strong leadership. Most obvious is the financial status. We never have enough money to hold meeting, gatherings & functions thus hardly any interaction between us.
I, here, after saying all this challenge all of my fellow abdalians both young & old to come together & select a new general secretary who is from our lot i.e perhaps between the years of 1975-1985. This gentleman should have the qualities of bringing us together & know how to take charge of this association & work for the betterment of this great institution & the Alumni Association.
I hopefully be in Pakistan during the reunion & request all of u to show up & make ur vote count. If we do succeed in selecting a favorable candidate who I think is a better man for the job then my family would donate half a million rupees to the association over the next 5 years.
Dear Abdalians this association needs a lot more than this so please come forward & let all these stinking people know that we mean business this time around.
I really hope something positive comes out of all this.

Hell! Finally, someone is discussing the Hitler of Hasan Abdal! Hey, that's almost funny. Anyway, I was in Mitha's Bio class in O-Levels. And for some reason he pretty much hated all of us Haiderians. I was in his bad books but sure enough I had a very close friend of mine to save my ass by offering his own. Man, Mitha really hated us and we HATE him. PS, I don't care where he gets to in teh Admin 'cause teh whole damn setup is corrupt. Mithay, Hope you get treated the way you treated us.Saqib Iqbal H/35

I wasn't trying to imply all Haiderians, but anyway, it was just us I guess. Saqib Bhai, you wanna know the funniest thing that happened to us when our class was in CCH. Mitha wasn't finishing our Bio course at all and was making us attend extra classes and stuff. And he always was a horrible teacher. One of our class mates told on Mitha when the Principal was on a college round. For some crazy reason, teh principal believed him. Anyway, the long and short is that Mehfooz Sahib became our teacher and was disgusted at where we stood in terms of teh course. On the first day, he said, "How could you have had a teacher for almost three years, and have no understanding with him whatsoever." And then he just closed off teh thread probably fearing the possible uproar of emotions. Then, he ordered Mitha to come to his class and take notes on how to teach. Mitha showed up and sat with one of my pals, his most hated student, behind me. I swear I couldn't even breathe. He spent the whole period playing with his pen and drawing crazy picturs. Eventually, he stopped coming. Finally, near the end of the course, Mehfooz Sahib asked us for suggestions. We only had one suggestion, "DON'T EVER let Mitha teach an O-Level class". To which Mehfooz Sahib replied by saying that Mitha is pretty senior and has to take over from Mehfooz Sahib because Mehfooz Sahib couldn't teach all the classes. But for the time we had Mehfooz Sahib, we sensed that he didn't hold Mitha is very high regard.

yaaar Bilal ..... i am not supporting Mr.Abid...what i was saying was..we should not blame the whole setup.
Haris J/39 who began all this discussion is my younger brother.i once asked him to stop writing on this topic because it is not doing any good to you but he told me that he felt better after expressing his feelings.i told him to go ahead if it is going to do any good for any other student.when he talked to me on this topic only for a few seconds,i could feel it in air...he was very hurt and i dont know ..how he took all this.and in no way,that compares to my own experience with Mr.Abid.Therefore i thought..i should better keep my mouth shut on this matter and let him do what he really wants to do...let him speak out all those things...he couldnt say to him in all those years.
he is now in 4th year of his medical school and really doing well.works hard and have developed interest in his studies.us ne in cheezon ko zindgi mot ka masla nahin banaya.but he thinks that everyone should be accountable for his deeds no matter who he is.
i had not much direct contact with Mr.Abid...therefore there is nothing to tell about my personal experiences.but even during my stay at CCH,most of the students didnt like him and everyone has his own story to tell about him.
Allah kare ke mustaqbil acha ho aur cch khoob truqi kare.
i wish cch best of everything .

well its really a great feeling to have haiderians at any place, i mean u wont find many around.bhaijan saqib, how r u? i hope u remember me, i was in ur 8th.well those dayz were really tough but they'v become a part of my memory and remind me of the good times i had in cch.

its been a long time and i only went to college again back in 1994.but there are so many pictures in my mind that sometimes it is difficult to decide..who belongs to whom.
anyway...what ru doing these days.i am in lahore.if i can help you in any way,it will be my pleasure.what r ur other entrymates are doing.tell me about about other haiderians if u know anything about anyone of them.i have been completely out of touch.just give me a brief introduction before utell me about anyone.
well i hope,i didnt contribute to ur tough days in CCH except during my temporary appointment when Asadullah and i were a little more rough than what was being expected from us.But we were always soft for the new entry 8th class.

i appreciate the response i have recieved from my fellow Abdalians. my e-mail address is qaisarmanzoor@hotmail.com. Lets allow this subject to cool off a little & perhaps we bring up all these issues a month before the reunion. This would serve as an eye opener to many & also would be fresh in the minds of many. Perhaps this association as well as the college administration needs radical minded people like us to get these issues through their thick skulls. We already have placed a couple of sincere & like minded abdalians in the executive body of alumni association last year. I want to nail the coffin this coming year & select a progressive General Secretary, who works for the common interest of all of us.
Gentlemen lets start discussing the names of the next General Secretary from here on. I believe the interested gentlemen should express themselves on this website. We wanna know who is willing to do what & to what lengths r they willing to go in order to achieve those objectives.
The hosts of this side should allocate a seperate section for the candidates to express themselves & take questions from us. We want a proper leadership.
