HELLO ALL DEAR ABDALIANS, DO U THINK MR YAQOOB ABID CHAUDHRY DESERVE TO BE THE D.V.P. OF OUR COLLEGE.WELL, I SHALL LIKE TO KNOW HOW MANY OF YOU THINK WHETHER HE DESERVED TO BE EVEN A TEACHER AT OUR DEAR COLLEGE.AND WAS HE NOT A SOURCE OF CONSTANT MENTAL AND SOMETIMES PHYSICAL TORTURE TO THE STUDENTS? THOSE WHO RESIDED IN JINNAH WING WHEN HE WAS THEIR HOUSEMASTER CAN ALSO PUT SOME LIGHT ON HIS ABILITIES AS A HOUSEMASTER. SO, MY DEAR ABDALIANS , I NEED UR FEEDBACK ON THE ACADEMIC, ADMINISTRATIVE AND MANLIKE ABILITIES OF MR.YAQUB ABID CHAUDHRY.YOU CAN ELABORATE ON THE SUBJECT BY RELATING TO YOUR PERSONAL EXPERIENCES WITH HIM.
THOSE WHO MANAGE THIS SITE ARE REQUESTED NOT TO DELETE THIS TOPIC FROM THIS SITE FOR THE SAKE OF EXPRESSION OF EMOTIONS OF US,THE OLD ABDALIANS.

well, reactions of all others seem enough.all our efforts seem to have gone in a trash can.it is a very disappointing and hopeless situation and now it is only upto ALLAH ALMIGHTY to save c.c.h.

Dear KIM,
Hello.
I think so it is agreat decision and very good for the college and the students when Mr. Abid Ch. is made Vice Principal because of his great skills and leadership qualities. I think Shah Babur and Abid Ch. is a good team to lead the college.

My best personal regards to all the dudes of 39th entry Jinnah Wing!
A lot of best wishes to Usman Khan,Abdullah Tariq,Omar Malik,Iqbal Shahid,Zeeshan Haider and my good old buddy Harry Boy i.e Haris Iqbal.
First of all do allow me to tell u about what i'm upto these days so that when i argue the whole matter then it should be seen in that perspective.O.k.something about myself.I'm in the final year of my Law graduation and in first year's annuals I stood second in the university of the Punjab which covers 5 divisions of the Province and topped my Law college and expecting the similar results in 2nd year.I've worked with the Corporate Legal deptt. of a Multinational Co. and also with the top corporate Law firm of the country. And my friends would receive a pleasant shock by learning that Mansoor is working 14 hours a day, anyways enough of self projection.
Let's come back to the issue.Haris Iqbal has always been a very nice fellow and it was fun working with all of u.First of all let me discuss about the biasis against people from Multan side.I am from Multan and Usman Khan would be amazed to know that i had the school leaving certificate of Jamil Academy which was not the case with Kamran Gardezi. So who was at the disadvantage,me or Kami. given that i had to defend my self on a very odd pitch.I personally believed that Kamran deserved appointment but why didn't he get that.We were all interviewed by Flt.Lt.Babar Shafi Khan and subsequently by Brig.Shah Babar. Was my father a general or was he in govt. those days?Facts suggest a big NO.Then what was the reason?Without any prejudice I would say that it's not we who are to evaluate ourselves,it's the people around us who are to do this. Some people get opportunities and they can't get hold of them and some people create opportunities and in my case i created opportunity and i'll argue how? Before the Cricket competition as far as i remember there was a talk of dropping me from the team. But what happened afterwards?Cricket competition though we lost and i think because of me coz i dropped a couple of very vital catches. But i created an opportunity for me.Anyway enough of it.Let's go back to the matters raised by Harry Boy.
So Mr.Abid wasn't a good person...though i've not been hired by Mr.Abid and even otherwise he cannot pay my legal fee.U know guys we all faced the wrath of Mr.Abid and i was as a victim of his attitude as was Haris..but guess what today when i look back then i would certainly say that had there been no Mr.Abid i would never have learnt to survive in the toughest of all the circumstances.Tell me what C.C.H is meant for?We were prepared to live a tough life.We were prepared to face the realities of life from whom we were immuned in those days.I think this is a very good gesture on Usman Khan's part that he thinks that Mr.Abid was never unfair with him but i think the other way round.Usman deserved to be the President of Hiking Club of which he was deprived and i was made the President and Usman for ur information's sake i talked to Mr.Abid about it and told him that as u r making me the so called Captain of the hiking team and Usman was a certificate holder in first year he deserves more than anybody to be the President. But in return i got the ever famous stare of Abid saab after which i kept my mouth shut.Meaning thereby that Mr.Abid was not harsh with every person from Multan etc.
I can understand what might have happened to Harry and how difficult those times would've been to him but Harry don't u think they were supposed to make u tough.I've all my sympathies with u.I recall an incidence.Once while we were being punished in the lower gallery by some second year senior and my friends Kamran and Abdullah hit the door of room 1,if i'm correct...we were all asked to report the then temproray appointment holder. We were asked to bring our study tables in the upper gallery as we were in 8th class. And the business as usual i.e ragra.Guess what? my own entry mates blamed me and Wajahat Mateen, one of the most wonderful person i've ever come across, that we did all that hitting the doors of second year room.We were terribly beaten up with leather belt and that lasted for over an hour.I told Wajahat not to tell the temp. apptt. the names of our friends who did all that.Remember we were 8th class kids.Won't u like to know that why did i request Wajahat not to reveal the names. My Friends!i had learnt one thing by that time i.e Sacrifice.Someone had to save the other 13 who were being punished just for nothing and if the real people don't have the courage to face what they did then someone had to take their sins on his shoulders for the sake of all those who were innocent.I learnt to be mentally tough and face everything that comes in the way of collective betterment.I got confidence at C.C.H.I owe a lot to C.C.H and Mr.Abid happened to be house Master for the first three years.Once while we were proceeding for weekend,i asked Abid saab to give me my pocket money which my father used to deposit with him.The balance was somewhere around Rs.5oo.Guess what?He gave me only 100 bucks and i was very pissed off.But when today i look back i see a wisdom in that gesture.500 was a good amount in those days and if i had gotten them i would've spent them all on my weekend at Islamabad where i used to go at my uncle's place.
Again once i was slapped by Mr.Abid in bio lab for nothing. After the lab period was over i went upto him and asked him why did he do that to me as i was doing nothing. He gave me a smile and said u r getting late for lunch...and today i realise that those little incidents gave me the courage to stand up for my rights and the confidence to plead my case.
Friends this confidence has paid me a lot.For ur information's sake I was a member of the student delegation who was invited by The President Gen.Musharraf to discuss his visit to India.Friends!this entry mate of urs never hesitated in conveying his opinoin to the President of the country.Where did i get this confidence from?Answer is C.C.H.Who was the person with whom we had to live with in our initial years?Answer is Abid saab. Why didn't his attitude shattered my personality?Answer is that i was willing to accept any challenge which comes in my way. Then the point is that why did everything went wrong with Harry Boy.I think Haris needed some counselling but never got it.Unfortunately he never liked to share most of his problems with friends.Infact he needed some katharsas.Anyway,Haris never think that somebody had any prejudices and malafides against u.And Abid saab....i am not prepared to buy this whole stuff. He belonged to ur area and used to be full of praise for u and made u a dorm senior. As far as that incident is concerned when u were beaten up by Abid saab..let me try and reply to that issue. We all know, during those days Brig.Babar had introduced reforms. And if that incidence had been reported to him we know what would have happened...EXPULSION.Haris,POWER,it is said,CORRUPTS AND ABSOLUTE POWER CORRUPTS ABSOLUTELY.To me that incidence could have been a great learning experience for u,though a bit harsh. To me that attitude of Mr.Abid was meant to let u know how to use the authority entrusted on u and how to change ur attitude in changing circumstances.
I'm sorry..it has been a very long mail but it has been a lot of time since i've heard of u guys.I'll come back on the issue,Whether Brig.Babar deserved to be the Principal or not?
Best of luck to all of.And let's try and forget about all the bad things that happened at C.C.H.Let's try and avoid this habit of living in our past.To me this is what we need to get rid of as a Nation and as Muslim Ummah.

Assalam-o-Allaikum!
Your post did put some things in perspective. I, on the other hand, didn't have the courage to ask Abid Saab why he berated me without reason.
Anyways, the reason why I am posting is to share my pride on the fact that a fellow Abdalian has reached such heights. May you scale even greater heights, Inshallah!

dear friends
i heard a whole lot stories about the prejudice
against my friends from Jamil Academy(misali public school) by the college administration.
as my father is in the civil service i had a chance to visit Multan and it was my utmost wish to visit the much talked about Jamil Academy.
well i am very sorry to say, that i didnt want to stay their for long as i fealt fear in the environment, and after listening stories about the place i was really upset and depressed.
the standard of living of that place or the environment can never be compared with cch.
and after that visit i had few quetions in my mind.
why did my friends at cch from jamil academy never told me really what happened at the academy?
they always complained about the cch administration being bias, how about discussing the college administration of jamil academy.
you remember the beatings you received from Abid sahib and how about telling us about the beatings you received from your teachers at jamil academy.
these are few of the things there are other facts as well which i dont want to discuss on the forum.
all i am trying to say here is that please think before you complain ,cadet college hasanabdal has given you so much and if you feel that did you were not done justice with because you were from jamil academy, this is your inferiority complex and no one can do anything about it.
during my five year stay i have seen cadets from the academy getting appointments, college team colours, best sportsmen etc.
as my friend usman malik who is from has said that on this forum that its about creating oppurtunities, availing them and making other people realise what your worth is.
and if you feel that a Mr Abid beat you or he gave you a mental torture, he did that to every person with no exception.
hope my message is well understood.

HI GUYS, I never visited these Abdalian sites before. Today, outta nowhere, I just typed "Cadet College Hassan Abdal" in yahoo search engine, and then getting on link by link, here I m. I wd. 've never stopped here for long, but the thing that worked as an emergency break for me, was this topic,"Mr Abid as DVP or VP of this institution".
Well, let me introduce myself. I m HUSSAM MURAD MASOOD, from 39th entry jinnah wing. but i stayed in that college for only 3 initial years.. till i passed Matric. so basically, i stayed in that wing, which i infact like to remember as the territory of a manipulative administrator, for the time, when Mr. Abid was there. I read the message of one of my entry mate, mansoor(which i wd. rather call a speech infact) and i was really impressed only by his debating skills, and that has been his natural talent from the biginning anyways, but he was way too far from the innocent and emotional feelings of a cadet aged between 13 to 19 years old. Not every cadet is mentally that mature as u were, when u started there my friend. If we start a debate about it, that what Mr. Abid did, in context to what, it needs almost a whole night and still we wn't be finished. I totally agree with one of the points that Usman Khan made here in this forum, that, those young cadets, took him as some supersticious thing, during their stay over there, and probably i was one of them too... All my entry mates r not probably fully aware of the fact that, my reason of leaving cadet college was Mr. Abid, though he was not our house master anymore during my last few months, but... the 2 and half year long injustices and a strange kind of mental torture, which is one of the God gifted talents that Mr Abid has, could never slip away from my mind. i m more sympethetic to Haris, caz i know that i realized pretty soon that, the confidence that i had lost in myself, wd. never be gained again, staying at the same place... i needed a change, that could help me construct myself. And haris had to bare with it till the end over there. And i m so grateful to God, and pleased to say that, that change, brought out the sides of mine, which i, myself wasn't aware of. I learnt the same thing that Usman mentioned about not taking a manipulative minded teacher as god or something, in Govt. College Lahore rahter than Hassan Abdal. I agree that that, if Usman could learn this while he was in Hassan Abdal, why couldn't I???? well as i said, when we start at CCH, all cadets r not at the same mental caliber plus one more thing that we r forgetting here is, that.. the Most likely victims of Mr. Abids mental torture r the cadets, whose parents r not constantly in touch with him. He likes to know the insides of a Cadets family infrastructure, which a cadet has a full right to keep it reserved. well... to cut a long story short, Mr. Abid, from any side, doesnot deserve to be at those prestigious seats, that has been jeweled sometimes with the presence of karismatic persoanlities like Mr. Mahfooz & Mr. Saleemi. I wd. surely like to see Mr. Mahfooz as the Principle of this college and that wd. be the one more lovable side of our College.
At the end, i feel concerned and sorry about all my unseen juniors, who r currently studying in CCH, and i m sure, that there must be few Haris Iqbals there right now in the college, who can read this, but there right to speak is not there.. becaz, thats one thing that we lack in our college, FREEDOME OF SPEECH. Lets not try to cover it with the so called aruguements of respect to teachers... don't mix it up. Criticizing someone doesn't mean to disrespect someone. Thats the dilemma of our whole nation infact. And, if we don't have this right in our basic instituions like CCH, how can we expect it to be the part of our society and nation.
oh yeah... if someone needs to conatct me... my email is.. hussaam1@aol.com and i m currently in New Jersey, USA.

Dear friends,
Mahfooz sahib should have retired three years back as the vice principal, but Mr Shah Babur a very influencial man was able to extend
Mahfooz sahib service, not only as a teacher but also as the VP by convincing the board.
According to the college rule book, a staff member on extention can not hold any administrative post.
All this time there was hue and cry amongst the
senior staff members of the college, who beleived that Mr Shah Babur was being unfair and even though keeping in mind their seniority and services to the college they were being denied of their basic right.
As Mr Shah Babur is retiring in august 2002, he had to make Abid sahib the vice principal as he had no other choice. If someone junior to abid sahib was not made the vp that would have raised more controvercies.
Since the removal of Abid sahib as the house master of jinnah wing, Mr Shah Babur has never shared a healthy relationship with Abid sahib. Maybe on paper they did but in reality they never.
I did have the chance to meet Abid sahib personally and when i congratulated him it didnt long for him to make it clear to me that he deserved this post since long time back.
When i told Mr Shah Babur about the comments made by Abid Sahib, his reply was " Kuch cheezoon kae liyae intezar karna parta hae."
To be honest, Abid sahib did deserve the post of Dvp and now vp. If including me, haris and so many others have had problems with him, wont change anthing.
These are the issues wich should be raised on different forums. But i feel that only those forums are successful where if allegations are made against one side the other side should come up with reasons to refute those allegations or they should come up with their side of the story.
About Haris, all i would say is that you are a very brave young man.Atleast you had the courage to come on this forum an express yourself. But there are few things which need to be accepted as the events of the past. Well which i understand is very difficult to do.

dear dr.safsar mahmood,
i thank u really from the core of my heart for understanding my messages and giving me some compliments.your message is the most understanding one that i have come across under this topic.
i thank u again bhaijan.
i have accepted those things as the events of the past and it was really difficult to do so.all i was worried about was that "will these things be repeated to some other young cadet?"
i thank u again bhaijan for ur really understanding message.

Dear Haris ,
Yes he should be the principal too. Because, here our environment is so that if a person comes to one place then he hardly quits its seat until and unless he is removed from that place.
Then, I think so let him stay there because in practical life, one has to face a number of persons and I think the positive aspect of being the person we are discussing is not too bad because he as a teacher trains us to face such persons. I have learnt a lot from 2 persons; one from Mr. Y A Chaudhry and the other one was Ustad Hav. Ganwar.
As you are in practical life and can feel the frequency of the persons coming in to your life, of course you learn from him/her or teach something to him/her.
Best of luck to you always.

....that came as a shock, specially when that comes to your near and dear one. Haris, you should have told me, perhaps life could have been easier for you during your stay at CCH. Just to let you all know that I am Nasir; cousin of Haris and Saqib. I am not a staunch supporter of sending your kids to a place like CCH under the circumstances when I used to be there. I am not sure, how is it going for now......
Well, Haris as Saqib said......move on. I am not asking you to forget those ugly incidences, ofcourse you cannot.....but take that in stride, perhaps that has made you strong as of now ; and I don't doubt that.
When I was there, I used to hate those ragras and zyadityaans a lot.......:), and perhaps I still do....but I guess that teaches you a lot to deal ably with such situations most of the time in your life......surely, that makes you strong as you were then and now.....:)
Sending you love, happiness and prayers...God bless you.

Well said Nasir Bhai. Mashallah Haris is doing great in his life. He does not share his feelings with anyone and he has shown a lot of courage to write all this in a public forum. He is a great individual and i am really proud of him. I have gone through all the discussion and i believe that most of his entry-mates are also very intelligent, smart and caring. He is lucky to have such friends.

Do u remember what the manzoor brats did to him and Shah Babur sahab? i think he's a gentleman, may be tough on cadets but still a good person at heart. Read the other posts about QAISAR MANZOOR, then you will know the whole story and the charcter of the mazoor brataraans.
