Well the response is certainly
pouring in. The financial situation
is that we have collected the requisite amount for
this year, and also some for the next
year. Based on the response then, and noting that
no organization existed to help
Abdalians in sucha situation we have decided to
open an Abdalian Trust Fund.
Salman Cheema, a lawyer in Lahore has drafted the
deed of the trust. Please circulate
this to concerned Abdalians for comments, and then
we will inshallah implement it. I
have spoken to Mahfooz Sahib at CCH, and he and
Hasnain Sahib will be providing
their support to the trust as well. Inshallah it
will become something substantial in
the future.

I personaly think that evry time some thing comes up when can't just turn around and make a new trust.

It would have been better off had you contatced the HOBSA and tried to set up something along with them.

The sole reason I am saying is that cuz it would be easier for us the Abdalians to trust HOBSA.

I also agree with this. The purpose of HOBSA is to look into affairs related to Abdallians. They should be contacted for and actually taking up causes where Abdallians need any kind of support, and then networking with Abdallians for help.

my question to all those who instead of appreciating mr.naqvi have asked him to contact HOBSA is that if this organization woks for old abdalians then why it has got no funding syste mfor guys like omar janjua?either this organization should help out old abdalians with proper contacts with elite abdalians or eprsonal efforts like this should be appreciated

You see there is no doubt that what Mr. Naqvi has done is commendable. But the issue is that things like these need to be streamlined and be done at the organizational level than individuals trying to do things in bits and piences here and there. Thats the whole abdalian spirit of abdalians helping each other. If we have an accepted and recognized body which is HOBSA let it handle, organize and channelize such efforts and projects. This way no one will raise issues of credibility. Secondly, this will be a test case for HOBSA and its body of executives. If they are not able to organize things like these, then we all abdallians can disperse and start doing our things here and there.

The bottom line is "Lets try to organize ourselves at one platform of HOBSA".

Kamran is right. We must try to institutionalize rather than individualize. Having said that all things start from an individual. So Sohail Naqvi should get the credit for this.

Now on re-organization: The Abdalian's Association can only be reorganized with the help of all Abdalians out there. Being a member of the new Executive Committee, I'd appreciate if people could send in their suggestions to me or Jameel Malik, so that we could discuss them with other memebrs and formulate a policy on issues pertaining to Abdalians.

I agree with Sohaib Aleem in this matter bcz if u guys just think of this that if that guy Omar Janjua needs some help then do it for GOD sake.Why u guys r waiting for the matter to put in HOBSA.U guys r HOBSA, just make ur mind and do it.I knew that person Omar Janjua personally when i was a stuedent over there myself.He was such a nice senior and nice person that u can ever expect to see in ur whole life.I would be really happy myself to help Omar.
I also appreciate that what Dr. Naqvi has done for Omar.I'll be contacting Dr. Naqvi soon.

i go with waqas also. the HOBSA can ofcourse do it on an official platform. but will a needy student future keep waiting till all the 'official' requirements have been fulfilled???
Time does not wait for anyone and all abdalians in their individual capacities should help their needy fellows and let other know about them.
Criticism is very easy to do but atleast appreciate the work of the person who has taken the intitiative of helping omar. and i also know omar janjua personally. he was my senior and indeed a very fine gentleman.

Well, i was just thinking why Dr.Sohail never contacted HOBSA ( as it is not mentioned ). The only reason i come up is that he may never have felt HOBSA competent enough of handling such situation efficiently.
Secondly, all the people are still talking about the fact that we should develop all new organizations under the umbrella of HOBSA. Nobody talks about *what* did HOBSA did on the matter of Omer Janjua. People are impressed not by mere names of organizations but by their ORGANIZED proceedings. And i have not yet recieved reports of any sort of response from HOBSA in the matter of Omer Janjua. I would certainly like to hear them IF there are some ...

Guys don't loose your patience over it. Ofcourse if a guy needs help immediately he has to be helped right then, otherwise you loose all the purpose of the help.

The point that at least I had tried to raise was that HOBSA in the past has not been very active. Rather it only has the annual reunion and few get togehters to its credit in the past. And yes in some not so distant past an Abdalina Housing Cooperative/Scheme somewhere which just fizzled out.

Now with the supposedly new set up and enthusiasm this is a test case for HOBSA. If they are able to organize and respond to these requests, and if we can use this platform to help and assist each other throuhg an organized and recognized platform then what would be better than this.

Nobody can undermine the efforts of individuals in this case, but lets try to organize ourselves through ONE, UNITED, PLATFORM.

If the current office holders of HOBSA fail to come up to your expectations, this will give you a chance to bring on board the people you know would do something for the abdalian community. BUT LETS ALL HELP AND COME TOGETHER TO ORGANIZE AN INSTITUION for our collective good.

You know, I am not even involved in HOBSA but I feel strongly about it and that we should all chip in to make it a viable, strong and functional organization.

Hi!
Days and weeks count when an individual needs help.May be someone loses his studentship because the matter needs to be discussed in HOBA's meeting etc.It's much different from planning for some project at district,provincial,national and international level.An individuals urgent needs action or response in hours,days or weeks unlike your community or national needs which require months,years and decades.Once a person like Dr Sohail testifies the genuineness of need,thre is nothing left to be argued.What all is needed is an urgent and prompt response and help.You may discuss his need assessment in future if you have to do help him on long term basis later on.It's something like an acute illness.You keep on arguing and cosidering what treatment modalities to be used and patient would be gone and perhaps student would have been excluded by then.
