I've just found out a great way to use any Alto/Tenor play along CDs to create backing tracks especially for C Melody. I know you can buy Flute etc music books with CDs but the arrangements especially written for Sax are often better.
I downloaded some free recording software called 'Audacity' (to use to start recording my Sax playing). In the 'Effect' option I found you can choose 'Change Pitch'. For Alto to C-Melody I selected -3.0 Semitones. The software then converts the selected track. You can then save it and play along using the Alto score!
It does loads of other things to, like changing Tempo without changing the pitch so you can play slowly until you get your fingers around the notes.
Oh, you have to rip the Cd first and save it onto your PC, I used Windows Media Player as it came with XP.
Hope this may be useful to some of you(especially to those who can't transpose as they play like me!!)
Rob.
