I currently play a Lakey jazz rubber mouthpiece on my Selmer Mark IV in an 18 piece Big Band. I am interested in trying a Dukoff metal. Any suggestions? D7, D8???

I use a Dukoff mouthpiece on my Yss62 Soprano sax. It warks just fine. Just a word of wisdom. They used to advertize that the Dukoff contained a secret ingredient in their mouthpieces. My friend who is a metalurgist had one analyzed. Guess what the secret ingredient was? It was Tin. Go figure.

Karen...A very bright mouthpiece; just listen to Clarence Clemmens.
I agree with Castaway about the metal...it is also very soft & vulnerable to damage. I always thought that they were made from melted down slot machines!

Some feel like aluminum. Oddly Dukoff is only a few miles from me and I have never been to the shop. I did some recording at Bobby's studio around 1966.
