I have a Buescher C Mel (1924) and I use a tenor (Selmer S80 C**)and Cmel (Babbitt) mouthpiece (but not at the same time...)
Now we found that most of the notes are ok, but the high D is extra high, while the middle C# is too low. The high C# is about right (difference is the octave key)and the low D is also about right on. The difference between the C# and D is too much to correct with the embouchure/intonation alone. Playing the C# with the G and the octave key makes it better, but not totaly.
Now I read some contributions on using WD40 cans, lengths of tube and alumin(i)um to change pitch (;-]) beside the drilling and filling of wholes...
Any suggestions what should be loked at (or even altered) to get some improvement on this?
Thnx

Those pitch variations are similar to my Buescher. Gluing crescents in the holes may help but I just adjust. Try an alto mouthpiece also as I find the Selmers to work well.

I had a similar problem with a 1923 Buescher tenor "True Tone-at least for most notes". Finally found a plain old fat stock mouthpiece did the best job, but it was never spot-on for high C# and above.
