I agree.
Dune 2000 was unoriginal, unlike Dune 1 & 2.
Sure, it brings new stuff in, but its nothing better than Dune 1 & 2.

Dune 2000 was ment te be a remake and not a complete new game. I think it is good for a remake. Dune 1 is not that good, it was to easy and the gameplay sucked. I played it thru with no fun at all. Dune 2 was a lot more difficult and dune2000 have I not finshed yet. I got other games I rather played.

Well, as Mark said, D2K is a remake of D2, not a sequel. I personally like it as a remake because it has better graphics (as well as some units being more movie-based, like the Harvester), and the cutscenes are nice. But there are a few gameplay issues that make me like D2 better (i.e. Ornithopters were better in D2). All in all, I liked them both, D2k for graphics, music, etc (a worthy remake, that is to say), and D2 for some gameplay issues, as well as it's nostalgic value.

I liked Dune (by Cryo) as well. The music was great, and it was interesting and fun. I'm currently playing Emperor:BfD, and it's great, although not very accurate to the book, or even the movie in some respects (i.e. "Kaitan" instead of "Kaitain"). The main thing I hate about E:BfD is that they refer to all the sub-factions as "House", like "House Fremen" or "House Sardaukar".

There are Ordos in DUNE 2, DUNE 2000 and BfD. Where the hell do they come from? They are not in any of the books....

House Ordos was a creation of Dr. McNelley in his Dune Encyclopedia.

There is no House Ordos in the Dune chronicles.

Any idea where a person can get a copy of the original Dune game by Cryo? I had a copy and lent(?) it out. Haven't seen it since nor found a place where I can buy another.
