I know that what the title says contradicts your beliefs people, but House Atreides was very important to me at one time.

I was in France staying with a French family over the Christmas break 1999/2000. I was there for a duration of almost 6 weeks, and as you can imagine, I didn't have many chances to speak English with many people, and my French is not 100% fluent.

So, every night when I sat down to read, I had my trusty copy of House Atreides with me that I packed before I left. I really was a Godsend to me, because it took me to a place that I really understood, and enjoyed.

It was not until I returned that I saw the reality of the situation. It did not fit into Frank Herbert's Dune universe and everything happened too quickly. Not to mention the recycled bits from other SCIFI sources...

Still, it was a sacred text to a little 16 year old boy who was in another country far away from home... :-)

Nice story. I'm glad that the books holds something for you.
I agree, it doesn't quite fit but that's forgivable.
At least someone tried.

Your story is probablt B.S., Baronpalpatine (Good One, dork!). Anyway, we don't want to hear your sentimental foreign exchange student stories about
what an outcast you were cuz you couldn't speak the lingo. I feel for you, Baron. In fact, I just told your lame story to my Modern Lit. class and they want to take up a collection for you.
