One of FH's best qualities was his use of minimal
reference to pre-dune history, and his not using to many references to the difference of his universe. We were thus able to take something which was only outlined at best (i.e. Semuta) and run with it.
The worst things though, were not his contradictions with the encyclopaedia which possesses debateal\ble canon status, but his contradictions with the original series. The empire goes from Paul's 10,000 to approx. 1,000,000 planets. The Kwisatz Haderach is now a 100 generation process IN DIRECT CONTRADICTION with the described thousands of D and DM.
This was the worst book I have read since a friend bet me I couldn't finish Diaetics (I lost).

Kwisatz Haderach birthing process: about 90 generations. 100 isn't that different, taking into account that historical records may have been lost etc. Also the fact that nothing in this book is incorrect, since it draws on FH's notes and outlines and was written after the others. Therefore any discrepencies in this book are in fact corrections and updates to FH's masterpiece.

I don't think it's an lost project of Brian and Kevin. Real Dune fans don't mind those lill' details .. you want to call yourself a Dune fan when you are complaining about thos details?!?
There's one thing I learned in my life; DON'T MIND DETAILS!!!!
The story is great, right? like good novels should have. Who carez if the Kwisatz Haderach birthing process took 100 generations or 90 ... the story stays the same! and that's what's all about!
btw Kevin Anderson and Brian Herbert are NOT Frank Herbert .. again; who carez?!?!

I think we're all forgetting the point here. Dune is a story. I work in the entertainment industry and I hear pitches every day and there's one thing I swear by; If somebody can pitch me something in ten words or less (simplify it that much) then they know the heart of the story. This book isn't a story. It is clip art!

-tap- ??
Is 'clip art' a bad thing in this particular context?
