Nov 15th 12:48 AM can it be possible? In Herberts view, Mentats were supreme masters of logic. They knew inherently that fallacies exist, bias, prejudice, irrationality, all things that cloud answers could be dispelled in Mentat Mode. Im a second year college student taking a class specifically for nurturing skills of Logic, and I cant help to sometimes wonder, being the Dune addict I am, that if a child from birth were to be taught the skills of critical thinking, deductive and inductive logic, than would that child probably be in the .001% of elite thinkers, a 21st century Mentat? Critical thinking consists of three steps: * 1. Becoming aware that assumptions exist * 2. Making assumptions explicit * 3. Assessing their accuracy o Do these assumptions make sense? o Do these assumptions fit reality as we understand and live it? o Under what conditions do these assumptions seem to hold true? Under what conditions do they seem false? does this not SCREAM Mentat? Quite literally, I can see Miles Teg's mind moving to these wheels.
