Hello!
Well I just finished House Atreides and have to say it was one of the most enjoyable books I have read since I finished DUNE a few years ago. I was pleased to see the background information and story come out about issues and concepts that were introduced in DUNE ( the Movie ).
The politics and the behind the scenes coersion and intrigue was very cool.
I would highly recommend it.

I think Dune was one of the best books I have ever read. I would highly recomend it to someone who is looking for a book that is different and exciting. It gets you involved.

I would have to agree with Gordon. I liked the background info. But It was written too simply with no depth.

Same here. The plot was actually very good, its just a shame about the style of writing, or rather the lack of.

Gordon is right. HA, HH, and HC help you understand Leto's/Shaddam's/the Baron's beginnings. It also gives great background on the Duniverse. I liked HA and HC, but I really disliked HH.

I agree with jenifergentle... where have the real Frank Herbert fans gone? The prelude is rubbish in comparison.

Actually, no one said they were good, and I for one wouldn't think of comparing them to Dune...but IMHO, Kevin and Brian did their best. Or sort of did their best. :/
