I see now that you were being sarcastic. I completely agree with you're assesment of Norma. She belongs in a differant story.

Are you sure a KH is only a male BG I recall in either heretics or chapterhouse a part talking about the tleilaxu having their own KH
just curious

Yes. The KW is a male BG. Period.
For a detailed discussion, please see "Was Norma a KW" started by yours truly. Unfortunately, there is a rather unreasonable 100 message limit on topics, so you cannot add to it.

Because by definition the Kwisatz Haderach is a male Bene Gesserit.

Hi everyone, first post here.
I was relieved to read that I wasn't the only one who felt Hunters of Dune was written for K-12 readers.
I came across a few passages today I thought everyone might find revealing regarding the many inconsistencies in the New-Dune novels.
The example was brought up of the great mentat and serial-ghola Duncan Idaho dumfounded by Teg's ability to move faster than the eye could follow in Hunters of Dune.
Cough...
Chapterhouse Dune
(1986 edition, p 310-12)
Sheeana awakens Teg's memories.
If you reread that scene you will find that not only did Duncan specifically state he was aware of Teg's ability, Odrade gets Teg to confess that he has this extraordinary ability while Duncan is in the same room listening.
Or does this also fall under the category of Brian and Kevin rewritting the history and facts of the Dune Universe, too?
Thoughts?

To be more specific, the KH is a Male Bene Gesserit with the powers of a Reverend Mother except that he has some prescience like a guild navigator and can access both male and female OM.
A Reverend Father if you will.
The trick to being the KH is not just accessing both male and female Other memory, it's doing so and remaining sane.
Any BG RM can access male OM, they usually become possessed though.

Is there any logical explanation given for the Oracle of Time's endurance? Is she's Norma, by Dune 7, she's bean around for quite a bit. The guild seemed to know about this Oracle. Is any reason given why Paul, Alia and Leto, with stronger prescience than any guildsman, never knew or mentioned her in the four books they were in? I don't expect any, but the whole notion of labeling this a continuation of Dune 6 sounds more and more ridiculous.

Dune 7 is a fanboy orgy, but when those gholas mature in Dune 8 the fanservice will be mind numbing, mark my words.
Apparently Leto was a decendent of Norma Cenva? And Duncan Idaho has brain damage from sexual withdrawal?

Is it true they sre making two Paul gholas? And that
Yueh is being brough back so Leto I can kill him for revenge? Sounds wierd, but that's what I heard from some newbies.

Yes, there is one Paul ghola being raised by a Baron Harkonnen ghola, in Castle Caladan no less.
There is also a Paul ghola on the no-ship.
Duke Leto and Yueh are brought back but with no explaination why. Leto getting revenge against Yueh would be like getting revenge against the stick someone beat you with.
MelangeAddict, Duncan's withdrawl from Murbella is cured when Sheeana boinks him.
There is no explaination of Norma.

I was being somewhat facetious regarding Duncan being brain damaged - just referring to what uncle teg had mentioned about this Duncan having already known of the ability. Of course, we all know it's not Duncan's brain that is damaged, but rather the continuity of the series.

Changing the subject is rather rude. Collar wearing m*&^*&f@$$^s aren't very nice people, and should be discussed as a warning to others. Why don't you just start a new topic? It's a board, you know.

Shinnok is collar wearing m#@!$%$%$^$% not being nice people in itself a new topic? This posting is our opinions about Hunters? NOT collar wearing authors. I detect alot of hostility from you, do you post on Aint It Cool News as well?
However, you are right I will start a new post about the timeline elsewhere. I will also start a thread about the cover picture for Sandworms which feature sandworm in the WATER!!!???? Last thing Shinnok, you dont have to be so rude yourself. Cheers

i thought the book was a great continuation of the original books. dont get me wrong i enjoyed the prequals but thet never seemed entirely erm well dunish to me. this book did seem to me like dune but my only complaint was the over simplifying of things. they spent paragraphs explaining things that frank herbert would have just mentioned in a sentence and then left it up to the readers intelligence to imagine what he meant. bh and kja have written a good book though and i cant wait for the next one.

Actually, no, the two collar wearing m*&^*&f@$$^s I'm referring to wrote Dune 7. Since I don't know them personally (I wouldn't care to) my opinion is directly derived from their writing and is thus on topic.
As for Worms in the water, having followed these two authors, why are you surpised?

Finally got around to reading it (I've been avoiding these websites to avoid spolers).
I thought it was quite good in itself, but a little predictable. I think that the main problem is that they should have released Hunters before the Legends series, then at the end of the book we'd be saying "Robots? WTF, where did they come from?". Instead we got multiple mentions of the 'mysterious enemy', who wasn't very mysterious at all.
With the BJ books released before Hunters, it made everything a little too predictible, which detracts from what is actually a decent book. Poor choice of release order is my main complaint.
