As long as his character is still in there, the Ghola Hayt is all I care about. Yes it is sloppy that the actor is replaced, but seeing as how he had a small role in the first I can overlook the change of actors.

I can't say that I was impressed by his performance, he was barely on screen.

Now It's just starting to get irritating... do you even read what people post here, because you don't give me that impression?

Please respond as a poster, not as someone who has news on his website.

Say something that has to do with Dune, and I will reply.

Hope you all jump on the petition. It's a good cause everyone.

Perhaps you miss why people are getting a might bit peved at ya'. You're not really discussing anything just pluging your site and spouting crap that aludes to pluging your site (which is an msn community, ick). Basically you don't really contribute to the board your just using it for advertising. As far as I'm concerned you should be paying the admin for your obvious use of this board as an advertising media. If your going to plug your site you could do it a little less, and engage in disscusion a little more.

This is just my opinion of course.

Ok, and now to get a bit more on topic.

I'd like to see why this is a good cause. I was very dissapointed with the acting in the mini and I personally think that any change in actors couldn't hurt. So let them recast the Duncan character, all the better.
BaronMoritani Mar 9th 4:09 AM
That is your opinion, wet dream,

Please everyone else who thought Watson was great, please jump on this petition. It's a good cause despite a few naysayers who are sitting on their hands and criticizing others.

I think, that`s a step too far.
I can live with you advertising your site in numerous posts. After all, it won`t harm anyone, even brings some interesting bits once in a while.
But you should really refrain from insulting members of our small community.
Ending made a perfectly valid statement. Calling him names for this is childish.
You are, as has been stated already, not contributing to this community. That`s ok by me, but you should behave like the guest you are here.
BaronMoritani Mar 9th 12:44 PM
Okay. Fair enough.

But I suppose it would be okay though if I swore right? First ammendment and all of that?
;)

Why should Watson return as Duncan Idaho?

There are at least three key actors not returning (by their choice) and their parts are being replaced with different actors. The problem I have about Watson being replaced is that he wants the part. He loves the part. He was going to have a chance to show what he can do. He even reached out to the community of online Dune fans which endears the guy to myself and a few others. It's just a shame to see a nice guy lose out due to network politics.

Even if you dislike me, please join the petition and email scifi!

Nice to have things cleared up.
After all, I have to admit Duncan was displayed very close to the book by Mr Watson. His appearence was just right. Too sad there was not much of his acting to be seen.
If SciFi wants to discriminate foreign actors, that's very sad. If they now have more money to hire "better" actors, I would really much more like to have them spend this money on better script writers and effects.

That is well said Robin H.

Sorry again for going to far with my comments.

If you ask me, it turned out that Edward Atterton was TEN TIMES the Duncan that Watson was! Now that we've seen CoD, come on, that was a great desicion to recast the character. Overall the casting in CoD I thought was fantastic. Probably TOO good for it not really being a full fledged motion picture.
