Mar 9th 12:15 PM One Halloween three boys in the Jr. High decided to remove Sheriff Jose Mullin's steps. They carried them down by Archie Sawtell's and set them down on the bank of the stream. Mr. Mullins let the town know that the boys who did this would be caught and would return the steps. Early in December Principal H. Morse called the three boys to the window to watch Sheriff Mullins bringing the steps back in a wheelbarrow. Principal Morse lived in the Sawtell home and saw the boys move the steps on Halloween. Sheriff Mullins bolted heavy hinges on the steps. The next night three high school boys with tools, released the steps and threw them into the stream. You may have fun trying to guess who the 6 young men were. BOYS WILL BE BOYS! I COULD FILL SEVERAL PAGES WITH THINGS THAT HAPPENED IN CORINNA.

Mar 9th 9:51 PM Well Bud, when my wife's father, Herbert Weed was a young man the boys used to come around on Hallowe'en and cart off his father's (Fred Weed's) front steps, also. Corinne's grandfather was a pretty crafty old guy so, after this happened a couple of times, he would send young Herbert out on Hallowe'en in order to help the other boys steal the steps. The next morning, Herbert and Father would go out and retrieve the steps from where they were secreted.
