Anyone at the Kennel last night?? Seems Greg and Billy weren't at their usual best, but the Dogheads were stuffed at home again. At least Cov winning was the lesser of two evils, eh?
And how did Andy Smith do on his "trial for a place in the side"? 2 points from 4 rides - I think he must have passed the test! Thats surely proof if it was needed that he is indeed rubbish enough to ride for Wolves.

I think you'll almost certainly enjoy the Cradley book more Jim - and not just because its about our beloved Heathens. Although I believe slightly edited by the perhaps cautious publishers, it is still basically written by 'one of us' - an out and out Cradley fan reliving the memories.
Anyone enter tha SStar Fantasy League this season? Are you all still listing Cradley Heath as team supported??

Got two teams in the fantasy league and put the team supported as Cradley Heath. Any one know what time and where the coach pick up point is when we go to Cardiff.

Six teams.
Unfortunately none of them doing particularly well, and even more unfortunately not enough ex-heathens to make up a decent team.
Will the S.Star ever acknowledge our existence? Last year I got as high as 4th for a couple of weeks, but never quite got mentioned in the editorial, have to say i do find it annoying to see the top 100 populated with a number of teams that are obviously Heathens fans but still have to read about Bostons top 20!!!

So true Jim. I tried the ex-Heathens team too, but struggled to get near competitive. Sign of the times eh.
Will find out more about coach times for the GP and get some 'Club CH' supporters club news on here soon hopefully.

Its an intriguing move. The guy claims he is a sports enthusiast and will be making stadium improvements. We shall see I guess. More pressing for old Colin will be his team planning - Hamill, Hancock, Jonsson and Richardson to choose from at the top end! Can he fit three of them in, if so who to leave out? And the dogheads seem to have selection problems too - Ermolenko, Jensen, Scornicki & Nermark fighting for two places if they sign (as expected) the Karlssons and Howe.
My first thought is that surely, with only 7 or 8 teams in the Elite it should have been time to look at a squad system. These lists seem to advocate the idea.
Why not have 10-12 riders in a squad and be able to pick any 7 whose combined average at that time comes under the points limit?
We are at least on the way with any Premier League riders being able to double up at reserve now and two places allowed to be filled with rider sharing from the lower league. Plus, I hear that new foreigners are allowed to ride for Elite teams in the British League cup on a 4.50 average, without it being affected by their scores in the competition. A chance to bring in new faces as part of the 'squad'.
I think there are good signs that we are moving in a positive direction, but there could be another big increase in riders out of work this year if any of Lynn, Oxford or Somerset don't come to the tapes.

So the news come sout on 1st April, Mikael Karlsson is changing his name for a fresh start and from now on will be known as "Mikael Max".
Only joking. The news is actually on the dogheads official website today, so must be an extremely mis-timed April Fool.
Insert your own gags about the name, the possibilities are surely too many to list!

More news from the Kennel, as other riders take up the name-changing craze. Bikeface will now be known as Peter Power and the Pole changes his first name to become Speedy Scornicki. We await further signings.

Wonderful, wonderful wolves! What superb entertainment to see the Dogheads get an absolute slaughtering live on the telly! And with Greg Hancock leading the home team, its possibly the next best thing to a Cradley victory.
Oxford 62 Dogheads 28. Brilliant!
Not only that but to see Peter Adams' interview afterwards was a treat; "Where did it all go wrong?" askes Sophie Blake. Surely Pete should have answered, "Well, I left Dudley Wood for Monmore Green.."
And the icing was Sam Ermolenko's sheer inability to stay on his bike, right until the last race when it just didn't matter anyway. I think he was trying to beat his Dudley Wood record of 'most falls in one meeting' and the additional 'most falls in one race'.

Interesting developments at Brandon at the moment. If you can contain your envy regarding the stadium, then there's an article from the stockcar perspective below. Comes complete with some good photos and the stadium plan.

Just seen a picture of the new dogheads race jacket. Is it based on the old Heathens one?

Once a mongrel always a mongrel.
I agree that you are second best but Dead? dont make me laugh.
There is still greater support for Cradley than Wolves, there are more supporters who visit the old Wood site than stand on their terraces on a race night, and they are better entertained.
What a waste of a good venue.
I am still not sure if Wolverhampton Speedway is an offence under the trades description act.
