Anyway, I wouldn't use the word "genius" to describe these people, myself. Opportunistic, capitalizing, maybe shrewd. But genius refers to intellectual acuity, the content of your ideas, and Beck is somewhat, um, lacking in that area. I don't think Beck is as much of a libertarian as he claims himself to be; his views lean more towards social liberalism, if anything. Although you could argue him being in favour of the Tea Party's anti-taxes campaign, which is a characteristic for libertarianism. Then again, according to him, global warming isn't caused by human activity because 'there aren't any facts.' No, he isn't a constitutionalist, libertarian, or any of that garbage. He's a Mormon. And amongst the LDS's extensive history of failings was official support for the schizophrenic ravings of John Birch and Sen. Joseph McCarthy. Incidentally, Lauren's mental and moral tutor, Anne Coulter, is a strident advocate of these strangelovian figures and their deluded preachings. But no, Birch is too moderate for Mr. Beck. He has been encouraging his sizable viewership to learn themselves in the ravings of W. Cleon Skousen, who was so insane that even the Mormons couldn't bring themselves to support him. Here's a suitable summary.
