Khakain

The only reason that's true is because Maggy has an emotional bond to the series, as many people out there do: the well-crafted moments are so exceptional, that viewers often overlook the consistent barrage of utter crap that the prequels spew.

The Anakin/Tusken Raider scene in Episode II was one of the most powerful shots I've ever seen, in any movie-- ever. I still, however, think the flick sucked on the whole.

You guys don't give MG enough credit.

It was well done, but a few major flaws:

1) It presumed that all of its viewers have seen the last 4 films, even though it's been a very long time since the last one actually released.

2) The villain's plot, though planned, unfolded very suddenly. One moment you're still building character, and then the next a fucking exponetially-expanding crystal is causing Earthquakes in NYC.

3) One would have thought that the crystal kept continually growing, but it seemed to stop for lengthy periods of time, thus sparing the city residents and freeing Superman to take it out. Also, since it was surrounded b a kryptonite shell, shouldn't it have been covered entirely in said mineral?

4) Lex was way underplayed. He has his one kryptonite moment, and suddenly Superman is saved by a plane he (Luthor) somehow fails to notice, and everything is suddenly alright again within minutes.

5) Never showed Clark and his personal life, outside of a few brief moments at the Daily Planet. Granted Superman is his real identity, but I feel the character got sold short.


Those off the top of my head aside, this is definitely Singer's and John ottman's best work yet with camera angles, music, dramatic shots, and editing. It just felt like it was missing something important...I don't know if my above statements speak to what *it* may be.
