first, we're talking 14, not 17. 14 dems (including jeffords as a dem) plus arlen specter voted againsy hayden. the other 30 dems voted for him. opposing him for the nsa stuff is not a talking point. if the dems had any balls and weren't GOP-lite, they'd have opposed him as well
