Welcome, one and all. I thought I would deviate from my normal behavior this year and write about our history at length. Ten goddamn years. Say it out loud. If nothing else did, I think this one proves that we're never going away. When I joined I was 11, finishing up 6th grade, and most of you guys were in high school. Now I'm toiling in college and everyone else is busy with careers and deciding what you'll do with all that money you are making (I assume that is a real concern once you leave college). It is safe to say that for most of us, Khakain has been the most consistent part of our lives. For many of you, it has been that way for the full ten years. And for what? We hardly see each other; we save and plan for a whole year so we can meet for one weekend. Many of us are friends, but everyone has a few members they don't like, and some see fit to leave for months or years at a time without warning. Why do they come back? Why do any of us? It's our shared history. We know each other because of the things we've done and experienced together. I've arbitrarily arranged 100 moments in that history over the past five years. It's an old ritual, dating back to five years ago when a bird-loving Phillies fan cataloged our first five years and disappeared. I try to honor his memory whenever possible, so I took on the task of assembling this, a half-decade in review. Do not get worked up about the ordering; after the top 20 it gets fairly random.
