I just got word today that the Temecula Star-Spangled Fourth Parade needs someone to perform the National Anthem to open the parade.

I would like to put together a saxophone group (4 to 7 saxes) to perform the national anthem.

If you are in the area, and can help us out let me know at wwalkerjr@verizon.net as soon as possible!

Remember my "7 saxophone quintet" about the score for the national anthem. Well, I have the score, so if you are available let me know!

Thanks,
Wade

Wade,

Good luck in your parade this weekend. We have 3 to do, and I'll be happy when they are done. 10 hour bus ride on Sunday so a town can have a Mummers string band. Oh well, it's nice when people start dancing in the street when we come by :))

Good luck, Wade, with the parade. I can't believe the Holiday weekend is here and I never made it down to hear one of your rehearsals. Ah, how life sometimes gets in the way of what we want to do. Maybe next year. Oh yes, because of Alan (UK) and this site I now have my own C Tenor and just love it. Thanks again to all.

Thanks Laura and JC.

The parade band was difficult to get off the ground this year, we only marched 14 rather than our usual 35 to 40 musicians!

However, we did have TWO BASS SAXOPHONES in the parade taking care of the Walking Bass Line in "Surf City, U.S.A".

On Friday, the City of Temecula asked us to put together a small group to play the Star-Spangled Banner to open the parade, so I got to play a trio with my daughter and her boyfriend. Originally I was going to play the Bass sax with their Alto and Tenor, but the balance wasn't good, so I played my daughter's second tenor sax. This is the first time I have played Tenor Saxophone in public since 1975! It was good, except my daughter tells me I need to learn how to count!

Then we marched and I played my Bass Sax. What and experience! It's just too band I can't play the C-Soprano or C-Melody with this group. They need the bass line and I am one of only a few people who have the bass instruments and are willing to march with them.

I am already working on next year's show so check out the band page for details as its planning comes together. Just go to C-Melody.com and click on the Temecula All-City Community Band link.

"It's just to band..."

Should be, "It's just too bad..."
