Just got a Buescher True Tone LP #228 749. I know less than nothing. It came with a VITO 2S mouthpiece and one blown reed a RICO ROYAL 2 it,the reed, measures 5/8" x 2 3/4"
Is this a alto or tenor mouthpiece?
Does this type mouthpiece seem to be ok at least for
a rookie to at least start squacking with? Thank you for the space and any help. MM

That makes it a 1927 model; It should have the aux high F keywork, this should be a good sax. From the measurements I would say it's an alto mouthpiece you've got, I would say you wouldn't get the best results with that. Read the following thread on this website:-
