In particular, they are a superb match for Buescher saxophones. I'm so blown away by the 3C that I'm going to see if Ralph can modify one for c-melody. I'll keep you posted about this. Roger
Roger Aldridge User ID: 2644644	Nov 10th 8:45 PM Hey Everyone, I'm jumping up and down! I just got word that Ralph Morgan is going to make a new c-melody mouthpiece for me from a 3C. Not only that, he's going to make it from available b-stock blanks. The price on the b-stock mouthpiece (with very minor cosmetic hard rubber flaws) is discounted to less than $140 instead of the usual $180. It's going to be really interesting to compare the sound and response of the 3C c-melody mouthpiece to my original 6M. I'll let you know how it works when it arrives. It will take a few weeks. I have a good feeling about this! It's possible that the 3C may be that final touch on my Conn I've been searching for.

Anyway, I tried out a number of facings and found that I actually prefered a Morgan 5C on my Conn c-melody. It's hard to say why given the GREAT results I'm getting with a 3C on tenor. I guess that it's just the different horns. I recently traded my Conn c-melody for a Buescher. The horn's still in the shop getting a major overhaul. When it's done I'll be trying different mouthpieces on the Buescher c-mel. I suspect the 5C will be fine on it. Roger
