An oriental manufacturer recently made a Bb soprano saxophone with a low A.

Who was the manufacturer? What was the price? Where in internet can I find a photo of this rare bird? Does anyone know anyone who has one? How does it play? I believe Branford Marsalis has one.

Not on any search engine I know of ! (I've just looked extensively) I know of low A Alto's and (of course) Bari's, and I've seen a lacquered metal tube "low A adaptor" to fit a Tenor bell. There are some straight Alto's going arond tho'......... :-))

I'm afraid you have to have it custom made. I'd heard all sorts of stories about "cardboard tubes" and "fist down the bell" - but this one had been mocked up, then made up from sheet metal, then lacquered - defies logic unless you really need that note, bari I can understand....
