Seller on ebay is selling not one - but TWO - what looks like Martin C-Mels with alto necks.....
260037294075 and 260050786144
Body proportions look C-Mel'ish, but neck looks woefully short on both saxes. Overall looks out of proportion to be an alto, either (imho). And as Martin didn't produce staraight-necked C-Mels, well - but I'm getting tired of emailing sellers who frequently say "So what ? We think it's OK !"

Perhaps he couldn't find any Martin necks and just put some spare altos necks on.
Alan, can you tell me what the diameter of a Martin bell flare is?
I heard a rumour that they are bigger than Conns but nobody has verified that.

In addition I notice that both sets of photos are the same even the one showing the serial number.

Hmm - the seller said (quote) "no idea, don;t have much of an idea about the c-melody,regards, Maheen" (unquote). Yes, I think I agree with that !

Steve, I'll measure the Martin (and Buescher + King) bell flares later, but overall those sax(es) seem just a tad bigger than e.g. Conns. I often fing that Martin/King need a bit more room in the case.
I have a shaped/fitted Conn case that Conns will fit into, but the others just won't. Might be something also to do with the fin under the bow (on some saxes) pushing them 'up' in the case.
Later, dude ! (as they say in modern circles.....)
