Sorry to be bothersome...this is sort of a follow-up to my last post. I've been doing some research, found loads of information almost all of which was really confusing, and then went to E-bay (I know, buyer beware).
Anyone have anything to say about these auctions? All clinkers, what I should be willing to pay, ANYTHING. The last in particular is the one I'm most interested.
Thanks in advance for any advice...it's so appreciated.
auctions #250101339009, #330106643781, #230114252997 and #140106172866.

Yummy yummy...well done Steve; and Alan for getting a picture to us so quickly...high F# too.
I said that I would buy one if it went down to low A...I think now that I desperately need one.
Steve, would it be practicable in black lacquer?...I have a chum who is an engraver.
Very very nice indeed, a courageous venture which deserves to exceed your highest sales projections.

Steve.
Would you have a problem with a black lacquered horn with brass keywork and bell interior?
Any firm orders yet? They should come flooding in now that we can see it. In my view it will look even nicer with a tenor crook. Love the underslung octave rocker....again, more power to you...proper job, as they say in Devon and Cornwall.

Bb,
You, SSM and others like you are the very reason I don't participate more in the discussions. I use TWO words in my signature and I'm guilty of preaching superstitions??? Then so be it.
I wasn't raised in the South. I'm originally from Ohio (in the north)
Believe how and what you want. That's what I'm going to do. As far as my straight C, anybody can copy an existing part, or why copy it, just get another junker and take 2 to make 1. That's the easy way out. Let's see you take the time to calculate from a damaged bow the correct dimensions for the taper and length AND the hole placement to play in tune on the straight piece, a piece that Buescher made for ONE C melody that Paul Cohen has written about. Did I mention that the taper in a bow is NOT dimensionally equal throughout the entire piece?
It is a shame that you think it is your mission in life to so hateful over TWO words. Have a nice...life...existance.....er...what ever you want to call it.
HIS servant,
Doc

Bb & Doc...I misunderstood the whole thing. It seems as if Doc just believes in God in a big way. Nothing wrong with that. You're both alright in my book. Bb has his beliefs, I have mine & Doc has his. At least we ALL love saxophones. Hey, that's a pretty common denominator as far as I am concerned. Let's keep the music alive. I for one am going to tone down on my vitriolic posts. They get out of hand sometimes and rub off on other posters. It makes me ashamed sometimes that I take my venom out on my internet buddies. I only freaked out on Toxic ESB because he kept a lie going and that's not fair to the rest of us on this forum. Messing around and instigating just for the hell of it may not be nice. But in the end it's all in fun. But lying and trying to cover it up just damages your credibility in all phases, including technical advice and music experiences. It makes a person wonder what is true! Go in Peace my friends. Let's all keep it harmonious (For the most part).

The reference to religion reminds me of a Gary Larson cartoon where it is a split frame and there is a guy at the pearly gates of heaven and the line is "Welcome to heaven, here is your harp" and the other frame is at the gates of hell and the caption is "Welcome to hell, here is your accordion". I hope hell is not where the C melodies reside. I actually think it is reserved for alto clarinets.

" for alto clarinets." - which I also play, probably 'cos they also get a raw deal - or maybe 'cos they're cheap.

"Doc" Frazier.
Of course you are free to believe what you want..I have no argument with those who believe that the world is flat...provided only that they do not try to convince me, or to refer to their idiotic beliefs at every opportunity.
Rolls Royce never advertise; they do not need to.
It does not take a Phd to calculate the correct taper and dimentions or hole placements...but you do not have a Phd. do you? Quite simple arithmetic will surfice.
NO-ONE'S SERVANT..REAL OR IMAGINED. Bb
PS Still waiting to see God's signature for the clarinet that he gave you. :-)

Another story about hell.
Tenor sax player died & went to heaven. Bored to tears..all harp music and Volvos. Asked for a transfer to hell. Told that he would not like it as it was all about loud music and having a good time.
He insisted, and was instantly transported to a steaming smokey club..beautiful scantily clad girls, alchohol and laughter.
He was in the band, having a blast, playing a 10M with his favourite Link 8*.
Tiring after about an hour he turned to the baritone player and asked about the coda...."that's the trouble Man....there ain't no coda".

Muggers.
Laudable sentiments; I too will try.
Rather like you I suspect, I have a very low tolerance of nonsense and c*^p and life has taught me that the only known solvent for these is, indeed, vitriol. :-))

Some alto clarinets are just horrible, but with the right mouthpiece they sound absolutely incredible. Not in C though...
I agree about the accordions, as a melodeon player they're my lifelong enemies. ;-)

ukebert - I am 'keeping a working foot' in the Eb camp, so to speak. I'm happy mostly using a C-Mel where I would have used a tenor, but the alto has a much more lyrical sound, so I still play that, when the mood takes me.
So I also have an Eb alto clari, and a sweet little Eb clari - bit like a "thinking mans sopranino" - as a little sub-family. Well, the're only a tone down from 'F' instruments, and I have some Eb fake books - although I always found transposing for Eb was easier (just think bass-clef) !
Bb ? of course, I still have a Bb tenor, sop, and clari around. I'm still a "C" enthusiast first and foremost, it's just that I haven't burned all my bridges - yet....

Which is more evil? To attack anyone who dares to mention that they believe in God or to force ones faith on someone who is unwilling to listen and accept it?
Bb, your attacks are just as bad as the so-called evil you attack. If you go to the site that sponsors this forum, (www.c-melody.com) you will see the opening line is: "This web page is dedicated to God for giving us the gift of music."
You should be able to read into this that my beliefs are the same as “Doc’s”
If you also go to my community band site (www.TemeculaBand.com) and read the director's journal, especially from the first two years, you will get more insight in to my beliefs.
Also, you have attacked "Doc" Fraz in the past because of his non-medical "Doc" moniker. We all understand that he is not a medical doctor and does not have a PhD. So what? There is obliviously something in your past that causes you to lash out irrationally against “Doc”. Please leave it off of this forum.
Intelligent questions and discussions are greatly encouraged. Personal attacks are not acceptable.
How should I sign off? Perhaps:

Wade. You say "...the evil you attack" just shew me where I say that it is evil. You are again mistaken...somewhat naive perhaps but never evil. Wade...we all have beliefs; the difference is that most of us do not attempt to inflict others with our beliefs...especially totally unproven superstition.
Yes, I do regard your equally gullible pal as a fraud. As I said before, it is extremely bad form to talk of this belief...or illness.
How can you possibly say that it was God who gave us the gift of music.... utter unmitigated nonesense; just words...nothing to do then with the hours and hours that I have put into the saxophone! It was God all along..oh yes!. Do you realise how utterly ridiculous you sound. I could not be a****ed to read the last part of you diatribe...simply 14th century nonsense.
Is this site about saxophones or not? Perhaps you are using it for propoganda for your beliefs which any rational person regards as ridiculous.
Wade...you seem to be a nice chap, just join the real world and STOP LECTURING ME.
How dare you talk to me about God when presumably he has allowed 32 inocent youths to be shot.
"Gifted by god with the ability to play musical instruments" I am still laughing..what sort of a nut are you?

WW2 - Right On. I love you for the above post. Bb does have an evil streak in him. He seems fanatical about knocking Doc Frazier down. As you said, "It must be something from his past". Poor Bugger. I agree with you and Captain Muggles. In essence; "Live and Let Live". Who cares about Doc Fraziers religious beliefs. Does he love music? Can he repair horns? Does he treat people right? The answer to these questions is probably Yes. Everyone knows that Christian beliefs are based on Good and Honorable principles. Good God, Just read the "Ten Commandments". Go for it Doc. I am not a "Registered Christian", but I adhere to the basic beliefs of Christianity. It's just Good Common Sense. I'm not knocking you Captain Bflat, but please calm down and settle out for everyone's sake. Especially yours.

JJ. You know the square root of sod all about me, how can you call yourself a psychologist and be so wrong?
You say "live and let live" sure I agree but why do jesus freaks consider themselves qualified to lecture the more pragmatic of us.
Just try to understand...I am not supersitious and I object most emphatically to being lectured by people like you.
Stick to something you understand.

Bb - You are undeniably the most bitter and callous person that posts on this forum. You just can't seem to stop your nastiness and fascitioussness. It envelops and consumes you. You are a sad man. Sometimes I wish that I was standing in front of you and looking into your eyes when you spew out your bulls**t. I bet you get into a lot of arguments wherever you go. You of course will say you don't. But we know the real truth, don't we. Lobotomy, electric shock therapy, drugs; Probably none would work on you. Maybe a few good old fashioned Pub bashings would straighten you out, or at least shut your mouth. Post all the insults you want in answer to logical statements about you. It just digs a deeper hole for you to crawl in. All the people that post here can follow your trail of venom by just looking up back posts. If something doesn't follow your agenda, you lash out. We can never stay on subject when you jump in because you just lose control. Oh well C'est Lavie.
