Congratulations jazzbug1. You have become the new Champion Poster. You have beaten Alan Tucker for the Championship of constant posting on any given subject, no matter what it is plus making up new topics. When's the book coming out?

There goes that Castaway using my full name again - have I given you permission ?

There must be at least half-a-dozen of us who've 'come out' from behind our nicknames, why don't the rest of you ?

Or, as you all know...Lewis Pelham.
Alan, the probable reason for Castaway not revealing himself (if you will excuse the expression) is that clearly, he is either closely related to jb1, or he owes him money.

My name is Jimmy Allen. I am known to all local musicians as far back as the mid 1970s. I have been playing locally (The Tri-State area of New York, Pennsylvania and New Jersey) for 30 years. I play all saxophones and flute plus I am an excellent vocalist. (This is what I am told by other people). But you know how that goes. But there must be a grain of truth to it, as I am always getting calls to gig. I have to turn down gigs because of the time constraint. My full name is Evan James Allen. Now you know "The Rest of the Story".

Jazzbug1 - You are an excellent, knowledgeable and humorous contributor. By the way have you told us who you are. I can't remember if you have. It's up to you.

Castaway.
I am a fervent admirer of your father...Lee Allen. :-)) If you are half as accomplished as he then I raise my hat to you.

My name given to me at birth over a century ago
(I'm not sure-I've lost track of time) is......
Brian Bauer
Thanks for all the compliments. My alleged factual statements are all made up, but the jokes are true!

Capt.Bb - Lee Allen was a Negro and Jimmy Allen is a Caucasion. I know Jimmy quite well. And I am sure that he would be proud if Lee was his father. But indeed, Jimmy's father was a well respected CIA agent. Enough said? I'll probably be under investigation after releasing that tidbit.

jb1 - are you the Brian Bauer (from Buffalo) with the WJAZ microphone, who appeared at the Muskoka Music Lakes Festival with Jack Hutton ?

No, I enjoyed it.... Thought your bass sax playing was excellent, but I've never seen so much grey hair in one band !

At least you don't spray black paint over your bald patches... Or maybe silver paint ?

Hello, Alan. Finally looked at your website. Quite the sense of humor. Thanks for posting the picture of the record cover of the Canadian group. I tried it on my 78 player, but it just made an awful noise, but not as bad as the awful noise initially recorded on it. If you ever get to your ex-colony again and see me making a fool of myself on the stage, introduce yourself. I'd love to meet you. Even better, amongst all the fruits and vegetables hitting me, if I am struck by a Martin C Melody, I'll know you're there. You website is delightful. Curious about the castle near your home. I am an armchair archaeologist and the history of the ruin would be appreciated to jazzbug1@aol.com. Thanks for all you do in promoting the C Melody.

jb1 - I cannot live a lie, I was joking - wasn't at the Muskoka Music Lakes Festival, just stumbled across it on the internet.

If I'd been there I'd have certainly come up and introduced myself. Although I often travel without instruments, I never, ever, travel without a small selection of mouthpieces and reeds (and a sling), so you might have had to prise me off your saxophones....

I will contact you offline about the castle(s), interestingly enough I've just re-worked my will - one of the stipulations is that my ashes are scattered there, an old ruin scattered amongst an even older ruin....

You might not have notice the latest topics on the blog, from yesterday - including a Chinese alto with a hat on the neck, to improve the tone !

Thanks, Alan for the ash scattering idea. When I go belly up, my ashes will be returned to Transylvania, where I was born several hundred years ago.
