Well, I have decided to offer my C-Soprano on eBay. You can find it here:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ih=019&item=290038418277&rd=1&sspagename=STRK%3AMESE%3AIT&rd=1

The reserve is US$750 with a buy it now price of US$850. There are six days left. The bidding is already over US$300.

Have a look, and if you decide to bid, good luck!

Alan (UK), well, my personal situation requires that I shed many assets at this time. This is only the first of the entire collection going under the gavel. I will keep my core Alto, C-Melody, and hopefully my Bass Sax. But, all will work out in the end. I am kind of hoping that the reserve is not met so I have an excuse to keep it.

Just for everyone's edification, the following is the list of saxophones that are going to be offered for sale:

Wurlitzer Silver plated C-Soprano,
Mirage lacquer Bb-Soprano,
Buescher Gold plated True Tone Eb Alto,
Buescher Silver plated True Tone C-Melody with Gold plated Keys,
Buescher Silver Plated True Tone Eb Baritone in serious need of a MAJOR overhaul,
Buescher Silver Plated True Tone BBb Bass.

I will be keeping:
Buescher Gold plated True Tone Eb Alto (my first saxophone from 1971!)
Conn Silver plated C-Melody.
I will also keep any of the above listed saxophones that do not fetch the predetermined reserve price.

Additionally, I have a Buescher Silver Plated True Tone C-Melody body with gold plated keys but no neck in serious need of an overhaul. Plus a bare brass Buescher True Tone C-Melody is even more serious need of an overhaul. These are the candidate horns for my first timer's overhaul project. I hope to end up with a beautiful Buescher Silver plated C-Melody with Gold Plated Keys and Gold Wash bell.

If you are interested in any of these horns, let me know. Otherwise I will be putting them on eBay. 8-(

Wade,
Keep me in mind if your C sop doesn't go.
I can't really afford it now but am interested.

Okay, well the sax only got a maximum bid of $515 against a reserve of $750 and a "buy it now" price of $850. So for now, I am keeping the sax!

Now to see if I have better luck with the others!

Wade - I know you'd miss it, but the Bass will surely (hopefully) fetch almost as much as all the others put together ? Good luck.

True! But the Bass is the one I play the most! I don't think I will be able to bear the loss of the Richter 7.0 saxophone!

Shoot, I guess I will just call it a good effort andm keep the lot. But I'd better start playing the all or will find it hard to explain to the Missus! Perhaps a compromise of selling just the "duplicates"?

Darn "m" is in the wrong place. Please move it from the end of the work "and" and place it on the word "the" on the next line so that it reads:

...and keep the lot. But I'd better start playing them all ...

Wade, my C-Melody project is finally coming to a successful close and now I am just starting a quest for the elusive C-Sop. Discovered this thread and thought it would be worth asking if you are still interested in selling yours. I missed your offering on eBay. I would have bid your reserve $750 in a heart beat for a playable good condition horn, from a trusted fellow musician, and that doesn’t need and overhaul.

Sax_Therapy:

The alto is for sale. I am askin US$500 since it needs a complete overhaul, but is in good condition otherwise.

Wade - and anyone else -

I'm looking for a C Soprano to use in my high school's pit orchestra, for the poor reed doublers to cover oboe parts with. Do you still have one available, in good working order?

I've looked for these things sporadically for years - then I found this forum, & now I have some hope. Thanks!
