Why don't you delete anything that has nothing to do with music or saxophones as fast as it hits this forum. I don't mean small talk between regular contributors. I mean MINDLESS SPAM. I know it means more of your time, WW. But try the best you can without wasting all your time.

Thing is, it now only seems to occur in the boards that noone uses, also I believe that Wade can't delete threads.

Thanks, but no thanks. It's no big deal that the spammers hit this sight. But it bothers me, even though I don't have to read the posts if I don't want to. It's the principal of it. It's just like spam Emails. It Sucks Big Time.

Helo - Lewis, I couldn't resist a look, to see if the effort was worthwhile. Some of the links in 'winemaking' and 'napa valley wine' contain a lot of information, but wierdly no hard sell....

When I see the SPAM I delete it. However, I sometimes go a few days without checking the forum.

Anyone who would like to be a co-administrator can if they volunteer!

Any way to put persons who get a new User ID in a quarantine situation until you release the messages every other day? Old users don't spam. Old users never die; they just fade away. Where have I heard that before?

Sorry Jim B. This is a free, no frills service. The only way is to go to more restrictive and cumbersome software for a forum service.

Unfortunately, with freedom of speech, and the anonymity of the internet, we will just have to live with this intrusion until it dies.

User ids are not registered and you can effectively change your id each time you use this forum. The numeric user id is system assigned and can sometimes be duplicated with some other user.

Overall, this seems to be one of the best of the simple and free forum services which is what has made this forum so easy for us to enjoy and use. But, we must deal with the occasional irritation.

Another batch of Dr Desmond Phillips' Viagra just gone into cyberspace... Sometimes I seem to spend more time here deleting spam than reading/posting - as, I suspect, do others.

Mind you, if you think laterally, I suppose the C-Mel was the 20's 'spam' saxophone !

Warning: Keep Viagra away from curved saxophones.
Ever see a straight bass sax? Well I had one after someone dropped a pill into it. J and J Woodwinds made it curve again. I can't imagine how. They seem to have a way with re-shaping horns.
